Who we are

Over 70 years of history

From generation to generation. Our company boasts 70 years of experience in the passenger transport sector, both nationally and internationally, specializing in tourism.
It was in 1954 when Leonardo D'Orlando adapted a military truck equipped with benches, transforming it into a bus to connect the villages of the Tolmezzo area—Illegio, Fusea, Cazzaso—with the main town of Tolmezzo.
Until the early 1950s, people used the bus to attend major markets and fairs or to reach the main town of Carnia for bureaucratic or health-related reasons. After the war, people also began to travel for work and study.

Over 70 years of history

The 1950s

In the 1950s, brand new buses were purchased, a proper urban service was organised for the city of Tolmezzo and the first seasonal international trips to Switzerland, France and Germany began.

The 1960s

With the economic boom of the 1960s and 1970s, people's ever-increasing curiosity led to a further development of the tourism branch with the purchase of state-of-the-art tourist buses to destinations such as Morocco and Algeria.

The 1970s

D'Orlando Giovanni son of Leonardo, set up his own company - ‘Autoservizi D'Orlando Giovanni’.

The 80s and 90s

The advent of a new market segment: the transport of persons with motor disabilities and the purchase of the first equipped vehicles. Constant updating of the vehicle fleet continues to maintain a high standard of service quality. In the eighties and nineties D'Orlando became a partner of an onlus association, coordinating the transfer of children by bus every year from Chernobyl to Friuli for their summer holidays.

The 2000s

The helm of the company is passed on to his sons Rudi and Giampaolo, who bring further growth to the company by developing a market segment that until then had been underestimated by many: barrier-free tourism. A bus is purchased, specially designed for disabled passengers in wheelchairs, based on the specific needs of customers.
All requirements for ISO 9001:2015 certification are obtained.
In the new millennium, the desire for freedom on two wheels grows, and the number of cycling enthusiasts and groups of families wishing to spend a day on two wheels away from home increases. Thus, two bike trolleys are purchased and several 27-, 53- and 80-seat buses are equipped with towbars.

Today

Today, we are in the fourth generation of the D’Orlando family leading the company. The fleet consists of around fifteen vehicles with which we strive to meet any type of request, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
